Terms of Service
The rules of the road for using our website and services.
Last updated: April 2026. This is a starting template — please have a licensed attorney review before launch. It does not constitute legal advice.
1. Acceptance of terms
By using this website or engaging Bytell Family Defense for services, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the site or services.
2. Services and scope
Every engagement is governed by a separate, signed Service Agreement that spells out the specific work, deliverables, pricing, and obligations of both parties. These Terms are supplemental and apply to use of the website.
3. No guarantee of safety
Bytell Family Defense provides risk-reduction and educational services. No product, service, or configuration can prevent all online harms. We do not guarantee that installation of filtering, monitoring, or parental-control tools will prevent any specific harm to any person. The customer retains primary responsibility for the supervision and well-being of minors in their household.
4. Customer responsibilities
- Providing accurate account ownership and authorization for any device, network, or account we are asked to configure.
- Maintaining the configuration after installation, including credential security.
- Supervising minors' use of devices and the internet.
- Obtaining appropriate consent from any adult (including teens 13+) whose device or account is being configured.
5. Payment
Invoices are due on delivery unless otherwise agreed in writing. Memberships bill monthly and may be canceled at any time with no penalty.
6. Cancellation and refunds
Consults are free. Installs canceled with less than 24 hours notice may incur a $50 rescheduling fee. A 14-day install-work guarantee covers configuration errors on our side; dissatisfaction with third-party products or ongoing platform changes is not covered.
7. Third-party products
We may recommend and configure third-party products (Bark, Aura, Gryphon, Firewalla, Eero, NextDNS, 1Password, etc.). We do not warrant their functionality, uptime, pricing, or continued availability. We may earn commissions from some referrals; this is disclosed here and does not affect our recommendations.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Bytell Family Defense's total liability for any claim arising out of or related to the services is limited to the amount paid by the customer for the specific engagement giving rise to the claim. Bytell Family Defense is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages.
9. Intellectual property
All content on this website is the property of Bytell Family Defense or its licensors and may not be reproduced without permission.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oklahoma. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Oklahoma County, Oklahoma.
